At LA Bridal & Prom, we want every gown to fit like a dream. Please review the guidelines below to ensure your alterations process goes smoothly.

Bridal Gown Alterations

Timing: Schedule your first fitting at least 2 months before your wedding date.

*Note you want to start shopping for a wedding dress at least 12 months before the wedding date.

Shoes Required: Bring and wear the exact shoes you'll wear on your wedding day.

Changing to taller or shorter shoes later may cause tripping or a poor fit, we do not recommend it.

Appointments: Bridal gown alterations typically include three appointments:

First Appointment: Your gown is pinned for initial adjustments and any added personalization.

Second Appointment: Garments are reshaped and adjusted. Final changes can still be made.

Final Appointment: All alterations are finalized, and your dress is ready. Adjustments can still be made if requested.

*Note: Appointment times may vary depending on the complexity of your gown. However, most appointments take about 30 minutes.

Bridesmaid & Prom Dress Alterations

Appointments: Dress typically requires two appointments.

Timing: Book your first fitting at least 1 month before the event.

Rush Fees

Rush fees apply if your first fitting is scheduled less than:

6 weeks before the wedding for bridal gowns

3 weeks before the event for bridesmaid or prom dresses
